In addition to Joe's in depth analysis of Epic FC's first game of the summer indoor football season, I have decided to include player ratings (out of 10) and its respective comments:
Joe (GK)-7.0- Despite conceding 5 goals, was able to pull off plenty of stops and saves to keep Epic FC in the game throughout the match. Much more decisive this season (compared to last season). Would've earned a better rating if it werent for some questionable throw-ins.
Wong (DF/MF)-7.5- Splendid performance by the defender, not letting much get past him, even chipping with his first goal ever. However, was subject to desperate defending after failure of tracking back by fellow team mates. Continues a great defensive partneship with Conrad.
Conrad (DF/MF)-6.5- Average showing by the pint-sized defender, due to the "twice-off" agreement meaning he was off the field for approx. 15mins. Was good in defence but lacked influence up-front.
Emerson (MF)-6.5- Decent debut by Epic FC's new recruit. Was able to provide good attacking options but lacked the defensive influence when needed the most. More match time would improve his game and inteligence on and off the ball.
Jordan (MF/FW)-6.5- Another decent debut by Epic FC's surprise recruit, after some transfer dramatics with the exit of forward, Kurtis Bruce. Provided ample attacking suport for Blaise, but lacked the finishing touch when provided with scoring opportunities. More match time would provide the room needed for his game to adapt to the game of Epic FC's.
Blaise (FW)-7.5- Blockbuster debut for the vertically unchallenged striker. Was closing down on loose balls, pressuring opposition into surrendering possesion. Unlucky not to get more goals as tremendous goalkeeping from the opposition prevailed. His performance should improve over the season as he adapts to new surroundings
Man of the match: A tie between Wong and Blaise.
Overall, the team displayed glimpses of a top-4 performance but was unable to be consistent through out the match.

This is what James Hastings had to say the game hearing about the result of the pitch next to them, "Well its a shame they lost, but everyone knows the first game is always difficult as everyone has to get into the swing into things and when they had such an influx of talent over the transfer season. We cant expect the team to fire from the start, its like a race car you need to warm the tires and brakes up before you unleash the full throttle otherwise its going to end up facing the wrong way your its not going to finish the whole race. But it is obvious the team does have talent with Mr Walker scoring on debut as well as Mr Wong finally managing to find the back of the net. I am pretty sure the team can turn it around in the coming weeks as we did last year from conceding 19 goals in the first game last year and we went on to be in the final. As for me, i'm glad both teams played fairly and in good spirits on the night and came out without any major injuries only a small ankle niggle that will hopefully resolve its self soon enough."
