Top 10 Kick Ass Tunes of the Decade

KICK ASS tunes of the decade that make you wanna say 'F*Ck YEAH!'

10. Muse: Knights of Cydonia- A pretty kick ass song, hence the fact it has made my Top 10 list, however, it would've gotten a higher rating if the vocals were sang by a Metal singer. But still, space cowboys are pretty awesome.

9. Franz Ferdinand: Take Me Out- A great song that manages to brilliantly to switch between two different rhythms repeatedly. Very Kick Ass.

8. Jet: Are You Gonna Be My Girl?- The kind of song that makes you want to drive a fast car down a desert highway. Decent amount of Kick Ass in this one

7. Children of Bodom: Rebel Yell- AWESOME cover of the Billy Idol classic. Heavy guitars and dirty vocals makes this song jizz of 'KickAss'.

6. Green Day: Jesus of Surburbia: Jesus of Surburbia/City of the Damned/ I Don't Care- One hell of a title, this three phased punk-rock masterpiece is super KICK ASS. The punk-rock equilavent of Bohemian Raphsody.

5. Metallica: End of the Line- The fact that its by Metallica speaks volumes on its own. It's Kick Ass, Nuff Said.

4. Red Hot Chili Peppers: Can't Stop- With a rolling intro and awesome riff this RHCP classic very much in the KICK ASS section of life.

3. Katy Perry: Hot 'n' Cold- A controversial entry and yet I don't give a camel's ass. This song is really groovy and I believe it is Kick Ass multiplied by three.

2. Ozzy Osbourne: Crazy Train- Sure this song was released in 1980 and this list is supposed to be about the current decade, but again, I'm bending the rules for this KICK-ASS-MOTHER-BITCH of a song.

1. The Darkness: I Believe in a Thing Called Love- And the most KICK ASS song of the decade, well you read the title, its The Darkness, deservedly. Kick Ass doesn't even begin to describe it, but it's video does.

Top 10 Movies of the Decade

The Top 10 Movies I reckon were either kickass or awesomeness.

10. Shaun of the Dead- The British movie that made killing zombies for survival funny. Killing Zombies with a shovel= Bad Ass

9. Star Wars Trilogy (Ep1-3)- Okay so its three movies, but Star Wars with CGI Yoda is definitely kick ass. The fact that Geroge Lucas manages to tell the story of Darth Vader and how he came to be and still make the viewers care about him is the reason why the trilogy makes the list.

8. LOTR Trilogy- I know its another trilogy but what the heck. 20 minutes of epic battle scenes is definitely a positive in my books.

7. Scary Movie- Notice how I only include the first one? The fact is Scary Movie 1 is probably the best one, not Date Movie, not Epic Movie, and definitely not Disaster movie. Scary Movie is a cult classic which pokes fun at quintessential horror movies.

6. Fight Club- Two words, FUCK YEAH! The title says it all, a club for men to fight and cause mayhem. Yeah I know it was released in 1999, but I am personally bending the rules for this movie.

5. Borat- A reporter from the East Bloc investigating America? Who would've thought of that? Sacha Baron Cohen's mockumentary on America (including the antics of Borat) is so funny and yet it exposes some of America's subtle flaws.

4. Matrix Trilogy- Okay so the first movie was released in 1999 but who cares? An alternate reality in which we're fighting machines, and the life we know is all a computer simulation? The number of times this trilogy mindfucks you is why it makes No. 4.

3. Black Hawk Down- Stunning visuals at times and amateur camera work at others, mixed in with helicopters and big guns and you have yourself one kick ass mother of a movie.

2. Harry Potter Series- So what if some of the movies aren't so accurate, the fact that the first movie remains as the 5th highest grossing film of all time is enough for it to make my list at No. 2.

1. The Dark Knight- A film with so much emotional out pour surrounding it (i.e. Heath Ledger's untimely death right before release) and yet still delivers dramatically and visually. Despite being just released 2008, the film has grossed more than a billion dollars.

Top 10 Gadgets of the decade

Screw the 90's and their alleged technological revolution, I say the 00's defeats all other decades technologically!

10. DVD + DVD Player- Since the arrival of the DVD at the turn of the century, playing your favourite movies now means placing a disc onto a slick shiny tray which would retract into an even slicker/ shinier player and watching the movie in unrivaled quality.

9. Digital Cameras- Although the digital camera was invented in the 1990s, its safe to to say that the digital camera really took off in the 00's. Gone are the days of waiting a few days for Kodak to develop your photos, now its simply a button away from viewing the photo you just took, and a click away from sending it to a friend.

8. Sat Navs- The Sat-Nav directly influenced the extinction of folded paper maps, no more will there be lost drivers. Technology that used to be restricted to the military et al is now available to the consumer. Garmin and Tom Tom are just a few of the big names that have forced their way onto your dashboards.

7. Apple iphone- The gadget that single handedly begin the touch screen era, since its release in 2007, other phones and mp3 players have included the touch screen feature to their product.

6. Blackberry- One of the first phones to have the feature of email, and a mini keyboard. This little bad boy is a must for any businessman on the go.

5. Sony Playstation 2- The best selling game console of the decade (138 million as of August 2009), the sequel to the Playstation has managed to out sell and out last competitors such as the XBOX and the GameCube.

4. Nintendo Wii- Continuing the trend of game consoles, Nintendo's release of the movement sensory based game console is currently leading sales in the current generation of game consoles at 56 million units.

3.Netbook- The super light and super small laptop at rock bottom prices seemed too good to be true. But its not, the netbook exceeds at performing simple PC tasks on the go.

2. USB Drive- The quickest and easier way to transfer and back up data between computers, the USB stick is constantly growing in size and has virtually wiped out the floppy disk.

1. Apple ipod- The gadget that popularized mp3 players and the mp3 format. Gone are the albums, and gone are the walkmans, the ipod enabled easy storage and listening of your music on the go.

Top 10 of the decade

Okay so it'll be the end of the decade in like 2 days, end of an era if you will, so in order to honour that fact, in the next 48 hours I will attempt to present my own Top 10 list of basically any category directly related to the soon-to-be-ended decade

Why don't they do this more often?

Probably the aftermath of the most epic party of the decade!

It's Been Awhile...

The first post after a 27 day hiatus; Stuff that have changed?!

-Exams are over!!! For like two weeks now...but YAY!

-I passed by 2nd phase driving test!(That's the practical one BTW!) Even after shitting cinder blocks beforehand!

-The Guys and I went on camp! Where we spent the first three days attempting to survive the oven fire that was the heat-wave, and the next two days fighting the motherfucking shit-storm that was the hurricane!

-I now end all of my sentences with an exclamation mark!

Weirdness in the 33rd Degree

Catchy song, but a really, really weird music video. That's Jack White for you.

A little motivation

Yr11 Exams begin tomorrow, I decided that CourageWolf would be suitable in getting us psyched for the next grueling two weeks.

Just a couple accompanying vids...

The songs are 'I Still Carry On' and 'Someday'. Beware of the permed hair in the first vid.

A McAwesome album you should listen to...

Been reharbouring a love for 90s Danish-Pop... The album I'm talking about? 'Paint My Love' by 'Michael Learns to Rock'. Basically a greatest hits album consisting of the band's hits. The band blends a great mix of guitar, naturalistic percussion and synth. Mind you it is a soft-rock/pop album so don't be holding out for Hammet-like tapping.

What they sound like? U2/Coldplay/Matchbox Twenty essentially

Stand out tracks include 'Love will never lie' and 'Breaking the Rules'

Player Ratings: Epic FC vs Velocity

Joe (GK)-8.0- Good game from the shot stopper. Plenty of fine saves and blocks was capped off by a magnificent ninjarific save which saw the keeper nearly break his neck had it not been for padding. Unlucky to concede two goals.

Wong (DF) -7.5- Usual solid showing from the defender, very little getting past him. However, was outplayed for the second goal with the opposition player doing just about enough to get the shot away and henceforth, score the goal.

Conrad (DF)- 7.5- No complaints from the player. Decent defending but was caught in a defensive mix-up for the first goal. Provided plenty of decent attacking plays from the dead-ball situation, even earning an assist for the second goal scored.

James (FW)-7.5- Good showing in attack by the super-sub, provided plenty of attacking intent and threatened the opposition goal for most of the game. However, fatigue took over towards the end of the match, as he lost a bit of steam. Nonetheless, he managed an assist for the first goal scored.

Jordan (DF/FW)- 8.0- Not too bad from the player in his debut season, was unlucky not to score in the match. Even had a goal disallowed for an infringement in the box. Was solid in defence when called to the task. Plenty of passes kept the opposition on their toes.

Blaise (FW) -9.0- Another fantastic performance by the attacker. Has settled right in to the game having scored twice in the match which brings his tally to eight for the season. His physical presence in attack his second to none.

Overall, a game Epic FC could've easily won had it not been for a superb opposition keeper, and a couple missed chances. But credit to the opposing team who never gave up and always hit on the counter.

Epic FC vs Velocity Match Preview

Kick-off 13/11/09 18:55 AWST Bouncer's Arena, Perth

On the back of a feel-good 4-2 come back victory, Epic FC will be looking to make it two-in-a-row by beating Velocity this friday. Epic FC will hope to establish consistency as the current form of 2 wins sandwiching the 3 losses in the last 5 matches, will not be what the usual standards of Epic FC be expecting. The club would like to capitalise on Velocity's heartbreaking 9-2 loss to the Awesomes.

What proved to be a decisive attacking tactic last match in turning the scoreline was the partnership between Blaise and super-sub James. Considering Epic FC will again have James this week due to long-term absentee Emerson (knee injury) still out injured, it won't be a surprise to see either one of them on the scoresheet this week. The team will be looking to continue the tactic of running down the corner and cutting back for someone to finish.

In the defensive department, Epic FC will hope to ensure a clean sheet through out the whole match. Key defenders Matt and Conrad will be the deciding factor.

Match Prediction: 3-2 in favour of Epic FC

Epic FC Team News

Injury fears in the Epic FC camp have somewhat died down since this afternoon. It was feared that one of Epic FC's foundation players, Conrad Loo, had sustained an ankle injury in training that would've sidelined him for Friday's match against Velocity. However, it can now be confirmed that the injury sustained was actually towards the arch of the foot, and that the injury suffered was probably not as bad as initially feared. It should be noted that the injury suffered was NOT a penile fracture as initially stated by goalkeeper, Joseph Blay. Conrad Loo should be up to match fitness by kick off tomorrow.

Player Ratings: Epic FC vs 1337n355

Joe (GK)-9.0- Plenty of fine stops and saves and also provided plenty of attacking options with pin-point throw ins. Conceded twice via two nicely struck low drives into the bottom far post. But besides that, a great game from the shot-stopper

Wong (DF)- 9.0- Solid game from the tough tackler, closed down on his man everytime and was rewarded duly with possession. Was involved in defensive miscommunication with his partner for the first goal. However, recovered nicely, to see out the match.

Conrad (DF)-9.0- Putting his body on the line a number of times to block the shots and get the tackle in. Produced wonderful defence for most of the match with his defensive partner Matthew Wong.

James (DF/FW)-9.5- Despite being involved in defensive miscommunication for the first goal but could not have recovered any better by scoring two well taken shots two complete the comeback. Fantastic showing by the super sub.

Jordan (FW)-9.0- Displayed great resolve to close down oppositon play in their defensive half for the first half. However, fatigue was a major factor in the start of the second half, as Epic FC conceded the first goal after losing some of the great forward work by Jordan, but made up for it with a goal of his own.

Blaise (FW)-9.5- Another faultless performance by the forward. A relentless running machine which never slowed, was rewarded with two assists and a goal. The speed, power, and stamina of the rookie is scary.

Man of the Match- Blaise & James- Great partnership of the two which directly resulted in three goals between them.

Overall, good showing by the team, showed great determination to overturn the 1-0 deficit. No nonsense defending and a doggedness attack were the key factors. Lots of praise for 1337n355 who made Epic FC work hard for the 4-2 victory.

Note: Congrats to sister-team, The Awesomes, who played a smashing game running out 9-2 victors.

Mr Delson and the Inquisitor, in response to claims you have made:

Mr Delson have recently stated that Obertan of Man Utd is shit, the Inquisitor has also recently stated that Luis Nani of Man Utd is a good player.

Proposition 069

Vote Proposition 069, the removal of mudflaps from all vehicles in the world. No, haven't really gone to government and attempt to pass through a law forbidding mudflaps. I never really had a reson to hate mudflaps, but since yesterday, I do now.

As you may have known, I was attempting my second phase driving assessment for the second time yesterday. 10 seconds into the test, the examiner and myself notice a rattling noise coming from the front-left wheel. Fearing the worst, I thought I had gotten a flat tyre, but after an inspection on the side of the road, with the examiner, we both notice that it appears the problem was much wourst than anticipated, the mudflap has come loose halfway and is what appeared to be causing the rattling noise. However, yours truly managed to shove the mudflap back in place, but this appears to not be enough for the examiner, named Henry.

With the gravity of the situation sinking down on the examiner, he decides to discontinue the test, fearing that the mudflap might come loose completely, and 'damage the steering' apparently.

Henceforth, I was unable to pass my second-phase driving assessment, however, I have not failed. The examiner deciding that the loose mudflap was really a violent act of God, has awarded me with my next assessment in December free of charge.

2nd Phase

Well tomorrow, I would be attempting my second 2nd phase driving test (thats the practical one btw, for those not in West Australia), hopefully I will pass. The reason why I failed the first time? Basically I was shitting cinder blocks the whole way through, and a temporary lack of concentration which led to an automatic-fail mistake. I was passing the test so far, as I had 3 sections covered, then came the 2nd scenario in which after parking parallel, I proceeded to pull out without checking (and there was a car) which resulted in the examiner using his brakes.

Reasons why i should pass tomorrow? Well, i'll be using my car, which wouldnt have brakes on the passenger side, and hopefully i would get a more lenient examiner. According to my instructor, my examiner last time was apparently the hardest marker there, however he did compliment my overall driving, but it was a shame that he had to use the brakes on his sides.

Wish me luck! XD

Player Ratings Epic FC vs 10Nil

Apologies for the delayed player ratings, its been a busy week.

Joe (Gk)-7.0- Was not given much options to pass to, but did well to block and parry plenty of shots, another good game from the 'keeper

Wong (DF)-6.5- Great defensive work in the first half, but lacked communication with Jordan in the second half, in which a couple of goals could have been prevented.

Conrad (DF/FW)-6.5- Was at fault for the first goal conceded for his failure to clear, but played a more attack-minded game to pepper the shots of the opposition goal.

Jordan (DF/FW)-6.5- Fantastic work in the first half to pressure opposing players in the first half, but was left wanting defensively in the second half.

Conor (DF/FW) -7.0- Emergency loan signing Conor was able to play after management disputes was settled dramatically a few hours before the match. Played a great game defensively, providing a spark to the team. but his forays into the opposition half failed to result in a goal.

Miguel (FW)-7.0- Another emergency loan signing to make up for the depleted side. Played a productive first half which resulted in a duly awarded goal, but was unable to get into top gear in the second half.

Overall, a 4-1 loss which we can take from a number of positives considering the heavily depleted side, however, this is a game of two halves, and if Epic FC continue to lose their spark in the second-half, a top 4 finish is looking unlikely.

However, kudos to the opposition, played well and deserved to win against a side not at their best. On behalf of Epic FC I would like to acknowledge admiration for 10nil who werent behaving like faggoty chavs and were decent guys to play against.

2012: Not the End of the World

I don't know about you guys but I am pretty certain that all this hype about the End of the World coming in 2012 is just a load of mindless crap, seriously, remember last time *coughs* Y2K.

Anyone that uses the word apocalypse in association with the End of the World will be red-faced when they find out that the Apocalypse does not actually mean the end, but it really means 'lifting of the veil' or 'revelation. Hence the story of the apocalypse in the Bible, written in the Book of REVELATIONS. So really, by the term apocalypse, the Bible is actually refering to the revelation of God's will, NOT, the end of the world. Read between the lines people.

Player Ratings: Epic FC vs Sexii Skillz (Fags)

Joe (GK)- 6.5- Not the best game we've seen from the acrobatic shot-stopper so far but could be relied upon to make decent saves and shot-stops. Was unlucky to have a shaky defence in front of him when a solid one was needed the most.

Wong (DF)- 6.5- Did well to disrupt the attack of more experienced opposition (faggots) but was drawn into the man in possesion a number of times which led to conceding of goals. With that being said, still a solid performer in the team.

Conrad (DF/FW)-6.5- Decent defending against a side with experience and faggotry. Refused to get nutmegged and did well to slow the play down of the opposition. However, should make more of an effort to dictate the defence and influence the offence.

Emerson (DF/FW)-6.0- Unfortunate game for the player, just as it seemed he would settle into the game, was injured whilst blocking a shot. For the time he did play, he provided a decent defence but was drawn into the man with possesion too often.

Jordan (FW)-6.5- Provided ample attacking opportunities but lacked the predatory instinct to finish. Did well to track back a couple of times. More communication needed with strike partner

Blaise (FW)-6.5- A hardworker who was unlucky not to get a goal. Failed to really shift his game into top gear. More communication needed with strike partner

Overall, a game Epic FC would like to forget. Pointers for the next game include more communication, defenders helping more in attack whilst attackers helping more in defence.

I believe that instead of having two in attack, the team should employ a MF which would pivot the play from defence to attack. Additionally, would be interesting to take up Tom's advice and having the defenders switch sides to disrupt the attack.

By the way, if you haven't picked this up already, the opposition were complete faggots who were not only diving cheaters but also whiny little shits. This were probably due to their Chavness.

Match Preview Epic FC vs Sexy Skillz

After exerting an absolute thumping of the Uncos in the previous match, Epic FC will be looking to reproduce the type of performance last week. Joe (GK) will be anxious to claim back-to-back clean sheets. Matt Wong will be wanting to extend his scoring run to 3 in 3 games whilst maintaining defensive stability. Conrad will hope to open his scoring campaign this week after failing to score in previous matches. Jordan would be looking to add to his debut goal last week. Emerson and Blaise will both hope to add to a tally of 4 and 5 goals respectively.

All in all, Epic FC will be wanting to pick up all 3 points this week after a sensational previous matchday. Prediction: If Sexy Skillz arent what they are hyped up to be; Epic FC 6-2 Sexy Skillz

Cool Song

Cool song by an unexpected band; I never thought I would live till the day AFI made a decent track...but I did. The songs called Medicate and although its not as heavy as i would like, there is an awesome solo with tapping at the end.

Check it out!

BTW, heres then and now pics of them; at least the've improved their look

McAwesome Album

The debut post for a series of McAwesome Albums I recommend you should listen to.

Album: Parachutes

Artist: Coldplay

A good album you should listen to especially when you're feeling a tad of slow-motioness. The track 'Don't Panic' is a good example of accompanying the slow-motion

Epic FC vs The Uncos: Player Ratings

Joe (GK)- 9.0- Collected his first clean sheet of the season. Was hardly called into action but dealt with what little trouble splendidly. With the addition of flawless throw ins, it would be safe to say he had a perfect game.

Wong (DF)- 9.0- A large factor in attaining the clean sheet. Did very well to organise the defence. Very little got past the solid defender. Has now scored in consecutive matches which makes 2 for the season.

Conrad (DF/FW)-8.5- Good game for the utility player, provided plenty of options in attack but also solid defending. Chipped in with a couple of assists, however was unable to finish in front of goals.

Emerson (Df/FW)-9.5- Breathtaking play from defender/striker, was frankly the story of the first half notching up 4 goals in a period of ten minutes including a well placed shot through the keepers legs. Was able to follow up the great first half with an excellent display at the back in the second half.

Jordan (FW) -9.0- Great game for the forward, providing several balls to his partnering striker, even notching up his debut goal with a well placed shot into the bottom corner. Performed well when called into defence.

Blaise (FW)- 9.5- Fantastic display by the well-built striker, a great follow up to his debut. Shared the scoring accolades with 4 goals of his own. Was hardworking in attack closing down on all loose balls. Could've had at least 4 more goals if it weren't for the width of the cross bar and posts.

Man of the Match: With 8 goals between them it would be a crime not to award the man of the match to both Emerson and Blaise. Keep up the good work!

Team Comment: Bounced back from defeat splendidly with a double digit scoring performance; must ensure the maintenance of this from for the rest of the season.

Match Preview: Epic FC vs The Uncos

October 16 will mark the second game of the season by a new look Epic FC. The team would certainly look to build on a game from which plenty of positives were taken. Emerson and Jordan will want to improve on a decent debut which revealed several promising signs of success. These signs include speed and hard-work. Blaise Walker, another debutee from last week, and Matthew Wong would seek to maintain the great form achieved in the first game of the season. Defender Conrad Loo, and 'keeper Joe Blay will be looking to emulate the form achieved in the semi-final of last season. Overall, Epic FC will go into the second match knowing that they have a real chance of achieving a result.

Match Prediction: Epic FC 3- 3 The Uncos

Commenting on a football article

Basically a football article on who would win between Brazil and Spain, then i noticed this comment:

Woah...Tom from Belgium, I never knew the Brazil International Football Team boasted enough skill at a 1st-person-shooter game to beat Spain

When I'm feeling philosophical...

Why is it that Batman and Robin have chestplates with nipples? I mean seriously, are their nipples so hard that extra dents in the armour are required to conpensate? Ifso it also means that Batman and Robin are gay partners that are really into role-playing.

Seriously... look

Player Ratings

In addition to Joe's in depth analysis of Epic FC's first game of the summer indoor football season, I have decided to include player ratings (out of 10) and its respective comments:

Joe (GK)-7.0- Despite conceding 5 goals, was able to pull off plenty of stops and saves to keep Epic FC in the game throughout the match. Much more decisive this season (compared to last season). Would've earned a better rating if it werent for some questionable throw-ins.

Wong (DF/MF)-7.5- Splendid performance by the defender, not letting much get past him, even chipping with his first goal ever. However, was subject to desperate defending after failure of tracking back by fellow team mates. Continues a great defensive partneship with Conrad.

Conrad (DF/MF)-6.5- Average showing by the pint-sized defender, due to the "twice-off" agreement meaning he was off the field for approx. 15mins. Was good in defence but lacked influence up-front.

Emerson (MF)-6.5- Decent debut by Epic FC's new recruit. Was able to provide good attacking options but lacked the defensive influence when needed the most. More match time would improve his game and inteligence on and off the ball.

Jordan (MF/FW)-6.5- Another decent debut by Epic FC's surprise recruit, after some transfer dramatics with the exit of forward, Kurtis Bruce. Provided ample attacking suport for Blaise, but lacked the finishing touch when provided with scoring opportunities. More match time would provide the room needed for his game to adapt to the game of Epic FC's.

Blaise (FW)-7.5- Blockbuster debut for the vertically unchallenged striker. Was closing down on loose balls, pressuring opposition into surrendering possesion. Unlucky not to get more goals as tremendous goalkeeping from the opposition prevailed. His performance should improve over the season as he adapts to new surroundings

Man of the match: A tie between Wong and Blaise.

Overall, the team displayed glimpses of a top-4 performance but was unable to be consistent through out the match.

Epic FC vs The Trojans

In the lead up to first game of the indoor football season on Oct. 9th, I have decided to provide the possible line up for the match against the Trojans:

Jordan
Conrad

Wongy/Emerson Blaise

Joe(GK)
